HOW TO CONNECT ROUTER WIRELESSLY

🛠️ Prerequisites

  • Primary router: Already connected to the internet.

  • Secondary router: Must support WDS (Wireless Distribution System), bridge mode, or repeater mode.

  • Access to both routers’ admin interfaces via a browser.

📶 Method 1: Wireless Repeater Mode

This is the most common wireless setup.

    1. Place the secondary router within range of the primary router’s Wi-Fi signal.

    2. Log in to the secondary router’s admin page (usually via 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1).

    3. Enable repeater/extender mode:

      • Look for settings like “Wireless Repeater,” “WDS,” or “Bridge Mode.”

    4. Scan for available networks and select your primary router’s SSID.

    5. Enter the Wi-Fi password of the primary router.

    6. Save and reboot the secondary router.

⚠️ Note: Wireless repeaters may reduce overall speed since they use the same channel to receive and transmit data.

     Method 2: Wireless Bridge (Advanced)

Some routers allow a more stable wireless bridge setup.

    1. Check if both routers support WDS or bridge mode.

    2. Configure the primary router to allow WDS connections.

    3. Set the same SSID, channel, and security settings on both routers.

    4. Enable WDS bridging on the secondary router and input the MAC address of the primary router.

    5. Disable DHCP on the secondary router to avoid IP conflicts.

    6. Reboot both routers.

This method works best when both routers are from the same manufacturer.
